Public Meeting Scheduled to Discuss the Future of I-81

The NYS Department of Transportation and the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council are hosting a public meeting that will provide the results of the I-81 Corridor Study.

Portions of I-81 are nearing the end of their lifespan and will need to be replaced or reconstructed over the next decade. Of particular concern are the elevated sections of the highway in downtown Syracuse, NY.

Several strategies have been proposed on how to address the highway, including dropping the highway and turning it into a boulevard passing through downtown Syracuse. These changes could have serious implications to the trucking industry and it is critical that the industry be involved in the process.

The meeting is scheduled for:

Tuesday May 21, 2013

3:30 PM – 8:00 PM (Drop in at any time which is convenient)

Oncenter Ballroom (Lower level), 800 South Street, Syracuse, NY 13202
